Mission Statement
Midwest Hash House Harriers, Inc (Midwest H3) exists to unite hashers from all backgrounds in celebration, mischief, and meaningful impact—raising funds for The Trevor Project while creating inclusive, safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities across the Midwest and the larger hash community.
Organizational Goals
- Cultivate a Welcoming Community: Create inclusive spaces where LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies feel celebrated, respected, and supported across all Midwest H3 events and platforms.
- Prioritize Safety in All Activities: Develop and implement consistent safety protocols, including sober volunteer coordination, trail risk assessments, and emergency planning.
- Uphold a Culture of Consent: Uphold clear, enthusiastic consent as a core value of our community through ongoing education, visible reminders, and proactive accountability, to ensure boundaries—verbal and non-verbal—are understood, respected, and protected.
- Fundraise Year-Round for The Trevor Project: Implement both passive and active fundraising campaigns to continuously support The Trevor Project’s life-saving mission.
- Engage with Local Communities: Partner with LGBTQIA-friendly businesses, organizations, and artists in each host city to amplify local voices and build meaningful connections.
- Expand Virtual Participation Opportunities: Offer accessible virtual options for those unable to attend in person, allowing wider participation while raising awareness and funds.
- Foster Transparency & Accountability: Maintain clear communication, complete financial disclosure, defined roles, and a code of conduct that holds organizers and attendees accountable to shared values.
- Track Impact & Growth: Set annual benchmarks for fundraising, participation, and outreach—and share results openly to celebrate wins and evolve the mission.
- Throw One Hell of a Party: Bring people together through humor, creativity, and chaos—with unforgettable trails, blue dresses, and memories that fuel the cause.
